would it harm the internet if I remove the ethernet cord?
I'm on my mom's boyfriend's computer. He doesn't like me going on facebook. I want to remove the ethernet cord from the back of the computer tower to plug it in my laptop. I want to know if it will harm the internet because the internet provider is starsmart and they have had problems with the internet before. Not because of the removal of the ethernet but something else. Also I can't directly plug it into the modem without using the lan since the console plug in won't do anything when I try it.
It is totally safe to remove the ethernet cable from one computer in order to plug it into another computer. There is nothing special you need to do either, just unplug the cable from the first one and plug it into the other one.
