How to share internet between two computers?
I have "D-Link AirPlus G DWL-G510 Wireless PCI Adapter(rev.C)" installed on one PC, but i want to share my internet with another Computer ( which is already connected to my computer through networking cable).. Please guide me what to do. ?
I have win xp sp2 installed on both systems. i dont have usb modem cable, is it mandatory? Can i do share internet using only one wireless card? i dont have another card now. but both computers have already sharing enabled( using netwrok cable) but internet is not sharing.. what setting are required to get internet shared between two?
I dont have wireless router either..
As far as I recall, Window's ICS (internet connection sharing) is very unreliable and doesn't support sharing over wireless. Even if it did support wireless, you're going to need a wireless card in the computer connected to the internet so it can comunicate with your other computer.
Your best bet is to spend $20 on a wireless router (another piece of equipment). It'll be much more reliable, support more than just two computers, act as a firewall, be much easier to use, not need both computers to be on for the wireless one to use the internet, and just save a lot of headaches. Get either a 802.11g or 802.11n router and follow the instructions on the box. You should be up in no time.
